Jeffco Superstars!

This summer Edgewater Elementary School hosted Jeff co’s Summer of Early Literacy. The
Jeffco Schools Foundation made it possible as part of a team effort with Jeffco Public Schools.

SPARKS Gifted & Talented summer camp offered classes to more than 300 kids as part of an effort to give students project-based learning. The camp wound to a close with a “Fair Share” event where students got to show their parents what they learned, practiced and created over the course of the two-week program.

The Board of Education has raised expectations for achievement performance for the some 85,000 students who started back to school recently. Its goals include the following:

  • 85% of third graders will read proficiently
  • 80% of fourth graders will be proficient in math
  • 64% of elementary students will be proficient in writing

Conifer High School Football Coach Larry Fitz maurice had led his Lobo football teams to over 100 victories. Coach Fitz has coached at Conifer High School since its inception. 

The Field of Dreams at Foothills Elementary groundbreaking ceremony thanked the city leaders, churches, homeowners, businesses, and associations which came together to fund the revitalization of the sports fields.
